Nick Hornby’s 31 Songs, another lovely read. My friend Nick, as I like to call him, is one of the few writers able to sound less narcissistic the more introspective and autobiographical he ventures. The great thing about stories is that they are meant for re-telling, woven anew on each occasion. Much like life really, the tales we tell are nearly always one-sided and truncated; and while plots exist within both, no tale or life’s end is ever determined until the closing chapter. By the way, if you enjoy a light comedy with a twist of darkness - or should that be a dark story with a light comedic twist - the movie adaptation of About a Boy is fun!
